It is always important to eat a variety of nutrient-rich foods to meet not just your energy needs but your vitamin and mineral needs as well.  This is especially true during pregnancy as you will need to meet your baby’s nutrient needs too.

Now that you are expecting make sure to stock up on the following healthy choices:

· Fortified cereals

· Vegetables and fruits

· Low-fat dairy products contain calcium and milk products are often fortified with vitamin D.

· Beans are loaded with protein, fiber, iron and other vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients.

· Lean meats such as beef, mutton or lamb are a source of iron and protein.

· Fish such as trout, salmon or sardines contain omega-3 fatty acids. White fish are also very healthy.
